        Terms & Conditions automatically apply to any commenced job.

Access & Safety:

  • Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area. Hazardous conditions or obstacles that impede progress must be resolved before work begins.

  • Work areas should be cleared of personal items, fragile belongings, and obstructions before the agreed start date.

Payments:

  • A deposit of 50% is required before work commences, with the balance payable upon completion.

Change Requests:

  • Any changes to the original scope of work must be requested in writing and may result in an updated timeline and additional charges.

Material Selection:

  • Customers selecting colors, finishes, or hardware must confirm their choices before the start date. Changes after materials are purchased will incur additional costs.

On-Site Conduct:

  • Customers and household members are expected to refrain from interfering with work progress, equipment, or materials.

  • Harassment, disruptive behavior, or unsafe actions by the customer or their guests may result in work suspension or termination.

Cancelations & Rescheduling:

  • Cancellations or rescheduling must be communicated at least 5 business days in advance. Short-notice changes may result in a fee.

Damage & Liability:

  • Donatello Painting & Cabinet Renovations is not responsible for pre-existing damage or issues discovered during the project.

  • Any additional work required to address unforeseen structural issues will be quoted separately.

Workmanship & Warranty:

  • Work is guaranteed against defects in workmanship for 30 days after the project is completed. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or third-party interference.

Use of Images for Marketing:

  • Donatello Painting & Cabinet Renovations has the permission to take and use photographs of our work within the customer’s property for marketing and promotional purposes. These images may be displayed on our website, social media, and other advertising materials, as long as the customer’s privacy is respected at all times. If the customer wishes to opt out, they must provide a written request before the project begins.

Termination of Service:

  • Donatello Painting & Cabinet Renovations reserves the right to terminate services if the customer violates these terms or engages in conduct that compromises safety, progress, or the professional environment.

 Workmanship

Donatello Painting & Cabinet Renovations abides by the workmanship standards of the Painting Contractors Association (PCA). Below is the checklist clients can use to inspect the quality of the work.

1. Surface Preparation

  • Cabinets have been cleaned, de-glossed, and sanded properly.

  • All imperfections (holes, dents, grain) have been filled and smoothed.

  • Primer applied uniformly and allowed to cure properly.

2. Paint Application

  • Paint applied evenly with no brush marks, drips, or sags.

  • Spray finishes are smooth and consistent with proper atomization.

  • Edges, corners, and recessed areas are fully covered.

3. Finish Quality

  • Sheen level is consistent across all surfaces (e.g., satin, semi-gloss).

  • No visible defects when viewed under normal lighting from 39 inches away.

  • Paint film is smooth with no debris, dust, or orange peel texture.

4. Hardware and Protection

  • All hardware has been removed or properly masked.

  • No overspray or paint on hinges, handles, or drawer glides.

  • Adjacent surfaces and floors protected and clean.

5. Durability and Curing.

  • Finish is fully dry and cured (no tackiness or soft spots).

  • Adhesion test passed (cross-hatch test if applicable).

  • Surface can withstand light cleaning without damage.

6. Final Review

  • Benchmark sample was provided and matches final result.

  • Client walk-through completed with sign off on quality.

  • Touch-ups completed as necessary, with good blend quality.
